Thank you Method Mag for the photo in this month’s 14.2 issue! Every photo has its background story. Huge thanks to Kyle Beckmann for taking the photo. Wojtek Targosz for filming the shot, and Tim Humphreys for being being a boss. That was a crazy day!

“We need the sweet pain of anticipation to tell us we are really alive.” - Albert Camus Autumn. Most people don’t like this time of year. It brings to mind rainy, dark days filled with things like school, work, responsibilities and too many layers of clothing. Unlike most people, snowboarders see fall from a completely different, much happier perspective.
Episode 1 of #ThePostcardSeries is exclusive on Snowboarder Magazine over the weekend. The Tahoe episode consists of park, street and backcountry to showcase some of the riding that is accessible around the vicinity of Lake Tahoe. Winter is almost here! Get stoked to ride by getting those mirror neurons firing!
The video features riding from my friends, Nick Visconti, Brent Oftedal, Mike Gray, and a cameo by my bud Seth Hill.
Filmed & edited by Matt Devino (aka @devocam).
Huge thanks to ARBOR SNOWBOARDS for making this possible.
The public YouTube link just went up. Once again thanks to Matt Devino and ARBOR SNOWBOARDS for making this Full Part 3 possible. The amount of time and effort invested into this was far more than the past few season parts. I’m happy with how it turned out and thankful to walk away from the season healthy and happy.
The lives we have are short, so we enjoy it. And hiking out into the backcountry to try to get shots is just part of life for us. I like working with people in the snow industry because we aren’t just there for ourselves, we go out in a group to get more work done, have more fun, and stay safe. To me this is as close as you get to being behind the scenes of snowboarding, because technically, it is.
Photo taken at Donner Pass.
Terren Gomez is a photographer I met a few years ago while I was out in South Lake Tahoe. He’s a super knowledgeable person when it comes to backcountry, and overall a rad person to work with. He even has a Facebook page where you can officially “like” his work! There is a click-through link on the picture to go to the page.
